Amethyst Curling Camp

Amethyst Curling Camp

The Amethyst Curling Camp is a premier curling experience for curlers aged 12 (as of Jan. 1 of the camp year) to 18 years (as of the start of camp).  Camp runs annually in July and starts Sunday afternoon and runs until Friday afternoon.  Specific dates vary year to year so watch for updates on the Ontario Curling Council social media!  The camp is hosted by the North Bay Granite Club in North Bay, Ontario.

Campers can expect a first-class curling experience at the camp led by knowledgeable and certified instructors. Cost includes accommodation, meals, transportation within the camp and of course all activities including curling instruction.

The camp is more than just curling training. Our mission is to provide a memorable, fun and positive experience while at the same time making a significant impact on their curling development. We place a high priority on the experience as whole and make considerable efforts to include activities that encourage kids to make new friends and generally enjoy their time with us.

What are campers going to learn? The camp will build on what the athletes bring with them so kids need to have 1-2 years of experience before coming to camp. Unfortunately, Amethyst isn’t for athletes who are new to the game. Our coaches will work on everything from delivery mechanics to brushing technique on the ice. Off the ice they’ll work on a variety of topics such as team dynamics, fitness, communication, strategy and so much more!

During camp, campers will stay at the residence at  Canadore College. Buses will transport them daily to our host club, the North Bay Granite Club.

All campers will be divided into colour groups based primarily on the age of the camper.  The camp is an individual camp, we unfortunately CANNOT accommodate requests for placement in specific groups with friends or teammates.
