The OCC has just received a grant Coaches Association of Ontario to add three additional apprentice coaches to participate in a Next Gen Camp in Kitchener Waterloo on August 19th and 20th, 2017. We apologize for the short notice, but still want to take advantage of the grant.
This is a Development opportunity for three coaches (minimum one female) to attend the camp, and observe educational sessions, team sessions (on and off ice), and “shadow” national/provincial high performance coaches.
The camp will be attended by five U18/U21 Next Gen Teams and six Next Gen Elite teams and their coaches. Each team will have a Mentor (Provincial/National) coach assigned to them for the weekend. Apprentice Coaches – are welcome to circulate through the camp and shadow the Mentor coaches both on and off the ice.
The Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario will be hosting educational sessions for the teams inclusive of Intro to Mental Training, Nutrition, Fitness Testing. On ice sessions will include – use of HP equipment (speed traps, instrumented brushes, wireless mics), video analysis, sweeping analysis, etc…
To be eligible to apply for this development Opportunity coaches must;
1) Be Certified Comp Int, with preference to coaches who are Comp Dev In training.
2) Be working with Training To Compete Level team
3) Clearly articulate how attending the camp will further their development.

Coaches will be selected based on the above, successful coaches will be notified by August 4, 2017.
Coaches will earn three points towards their NCCP maintenance of certification. Accommodations, meals and contribution towards travel will be provided. A minimum of one spot will be held for females.
