The Ontario Curling Council, on behalf of its members Curl ON and the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) will be hosting a series of Youth Curling Summits over the coming weeks.
Curling Canada, the Ontario Curling Council, CurlON, NOCA, and many volunteers have been working very hard the past few years to collect and develop best practices related to Youth Curling Programs. This is the year that these exciting new programs are officially launching. We’ll be rolling out these programs at Ontario Kids Curl – Youth Curling Summits which will be hosted across the province in the coming weeks.
Who should attend the summit? Youth Curling Coaches, Youth Program Leaders, Parents, Board Members and Young people (16-25) interested in getting involved in the delivery of youth programs from your club and area clubs – to learn about the new and exciting Curling Canada and Ontario Curling Council developed programs for youth curlers.
At the Ontario Kids Curl – Youth Curling Summits (2.5-3 hours long) – participants can expect to learn about:
- Long Term Curler Development Model
- Elementary School Curling (delivered at school prior to being on ice)
- U12 Learn to Curl
- Hit-Draw-Tap
- Youth Interclub Leagues
- Triples
- U15 Challenge Cup
- U18 Learn to Curl
- Campus Learn to Curl
All REGISTERED Ontario Kids Curl – Youth Curling Summit participants can expect to receive printed Youth Curling Programs, a FREE Ontario Kids Curl Shirt and light refreshments.
Dates that are scheduled so far include:
November 19, 2018 (6:00-9:30 pm ) – Barrie
November 20, 2018 (6:30-10:00 pm) – Ottawa
November 21, 2018 (6:30-10:00 pm) – Kingston
November 24, 2018 (12:00-3:30 pm) – Winchester
November 26, 2018 (6:30-10:00 pm) – Hamilton
