Sunday February 9, at the Alliston Curling Club.

U15 Triples Cups are an exciting, fun, developmental event for young curlers where teams of three (of any gender) play 6 ends, and rotate positions every 2 ends!

Registration is now open for these events:

Alliston Curling Club – February 9th

Lakefield Curling Club – March 1st

Triples is an exciting format used to teach curlers to become more well-rounded.  Triples games consist of 3 sets of 2 ends each. Each set is effectively a mini-game, with the team with highest cumulative score after 2 ends winning that set. However, if both teams have the same number of points, that set is considered tied. Players rotate positions every set, giving all players on the team a chance to throw last rock, call strategy, judge/sweep on their own.  Team coaches will be permitted on the ice throughout the whole game to counsel and teach their teams strategy, tactics, ice reading, etc…  Each team will play two six-end triples games as part of the competition.

Singles Skills Competition

All members of the team will also have a chance to show off their skills and play a modified version of Hit, Draw, Tap. Each member of the team – will get to throw either a Hit, Draw or a Tap – with the scores combining with the team’s Triples Scores for an overall aggregate score.  The winners of each of the “shots” will be sent home with a trophy to commemorate their win!
