BIPOC Youth Project – Mixed Doubles

The Ontario Curling Council is proud to announce that we are launching a Youth Grassroots Project to increase BIPOC participation in curling at the U18 level.

Over the next two years, four U18 BIPOC Mixed Doubles Teams (two per season), one from Southern Ontario and one from Northern Ontario in each season will be “supported” to take the next step in their competitive development.

As supported competitive BIPOC teams, the Ontario Curling Council (OCC) will fund three on-ice practices with an OCC program coach (ice rental, coaching fees), entry fee into the U18 Mixed Doubles Ontario Winter Games Playdowns (or similar playdown) and a travel allowance to participate in the Playdowns.  Teams will also get to participate in provincial Next Gen virtual education.   In addition, we will outfit the teams with matching hoodies and new brushes supporting Goldlines “UnitedWeCurl” campaign.

Applications are now closed. Thank you!
