Course Outline
Curling Canada’s Ice Technician program is continuing to produce the best ice technicians by offering training at all levels, from curling centre assistants to National and World Championship
Chief Ice Technicians! This 5-day training course will focus on creating arena conditions for Championship Events. With Member Association endorsement, ice technicians will be accepted based on work
experience, event experience and personal goals as a Competition Ice Technician. This course replaces the previous Level 3 certification.
The bulk of the course will be on ice; preparing from start to finish, championship conditions in an arena environment. Classroom and on ice sessions will be led by National Ice Technician’s Don Powell and Tom Leonard as well as industry professionals. The duration of each day will be determined on progress of that day. Participants will be assigned to groups and at the conclusion of installation each group will prepare ice for championship play. Each participant will be tested with an online examination after the course. The course will conclude by 4:00pm Saturday, August 10th.
To be considered, applicants must have a minimum of 3 seasons as a Curling Ice Technician or the previous Level 2 certification. AND you MUST BE A MEMBER of a CURLON or NOCA Affiliated Curling Club.
Cost: $685.00 plus tax (Includes all course materials)
Travel, meals, and accommodations are NOT included.

2. Attach a cover letter outlining your goals and aspirations as a Competition Ice Technician.
