The Ontario Curling Council through the support of the Northern Ontario Curling Association is offering a Curling Canada Game Umpire workshop (formerly Level 2 Umpire training) on November 29-30, 2024 at the Port Arthur Curling Centre in Thunder Bay.
Registration
Registration is done through Curling I/O and the registration link can be found on the Officials Development page. Cost is $75 plus HST, which includes the certification fee. For umpires with prior training and who qualify for refresher training, the fee is $30 plus HST. Contact Karen Saarimaki to receive your discount code prior to registration.
Prerequisites
Participants must have Game Time Clock Operator/Observer Certification (Online Course).
Requirements for Certification
- Attend a Game Umpire Training Course Complete and pass the Game Umpire exam (open book); 70% required
- Complete the practical requirement of a minimum of six games total of game umpire experience at two Curling Canada Member Association championships under the supervision of Level 3, 4 or 5 Chief Umpires and receive positive evaluations.
