Curling Canada is launching a new “Regional Competition” being piloted by the Ontario Curling Council in 2018. We’ve been working really hard to get this event “off the ground” in several locations around the province and we’re now ready to accept registrations.
We will host 3 U15 Challenge Cups on EASTER WEEKEND (March 30-31, 2018) – in St. Catharines, Barrie and Ottawa.
This event is intended for U15 curlers of any skill level. Teams can be of any gender formation (i.e. all male, all female or mixed). This is an ideal competition for clubs to send members of the Youth Programs to. Teams do not have to regularly play and compete together, and you do not have to have traditional skips, thirds, seconds and leads – you’re looking to put a team of four players in who will have an opportunity to play all four positions. Players must be a member of a Curling Canada Member Association (Curl ON or NOCA) club.
This event will be DEVELOPMENTAL in nature and will introduce curlers and their coaches to two new disciplines – Triples and Singles which will contribute to the overall development of Canadian Youth Curling in the future.
Coaches do not have to be certified, but must have a valid police check.
This is the perfect opportunity for curlers to enter their first competition! Take a road trip! Have some fun at a premier Curling Canada event!
