The Ontario Curling Council (OCC) and its members Curl ON and the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) are pleased to announce the 2018 Ontario Winter Games and the 2019 Canada Winter Games qualification processes.
The Ontario Winter Games (OWG) and the Canada Winter Games (CWG) events do not have North and South representation, therefore both events will fall under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Curling Council as the recognized Provincial Sport Organization by the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport and be run as province-wide events. The OCC has consulted with its members and board to create a fair and equitable qualification process which factors in access to competition and athlete development.
In addition to Male, Female and Wheelchair Curling, Mixed Doubles will be added to the 2018 Ontario Winter Games, giving more athletes an opportunity to experience a multi-sport event.
